Today (Sunday 16 September 2012) we have been treated to a demonstration of two local artists, Sandra Raby (sculptor) and Jacqueline Edmundson-Mott (sculptor and artist).
Sandra has made the creation of outdoor sculptures an outlet for her creativity. She uses fabric, with an added secret ingredient to make it pliable, as her medium and focuses on figures.
Her work can currently be viewed in Avant Cafe Gallery.
Jacqueline is a Design Technology teacher with a passion to educate folk in the 6 R’s – refuse, recycle, renew, reduce, repair, rethink.
Jacqueline creates rosettes from recycled cloth and flowers from recycled cans, the latter forming garden art and doubling up as plant stakes.
Her work will be exhibited at Avant until December and then March 2013.
