Cottage gardens have become somewhat of a trend at the moment.
They are a beautiful, informal way of adding different heights, colours and pollinators to your outdoor spaces.
Usually a cottage garden would be full of both functional and physically appealing plants, so there would be herbs or edible flowers mixed in with ordinary plants, however nowadays a lot of people are foregoing the edible plants and just filling their beds with florals.
Below is a list of some of the plants we would recommend for a cottage garden:
- cosmos
- daisies
- foxgloves
- lavender
- lupins
- peony’s
- penstemon
- rosemary
- roses
- scabious
- sweet pea
- zinnia
Fruit bushes or trees are also a good way to add in some height, while still having beautiful flowers:
- blueberries
- raspberry
- plum
- cherry
