Jack Swan is our guest speaker this month at Avant’s Gardening Club and will be talking about his experiences of growing trees and shrubs.

Mr Swan served his apprenticeship in Edinburgh Parks Department, managed a number of woodland reserves throughout the country and became nursery manager of a business in Cornwall until he was appointed Arborist-in-Charge at Jodrell Bank.  He now works as a consultant in horticultural and runs tree identification courses as well as advising the RHS.

Avant Gardening Club convenes on the second Wednesday of every month from 10.30am until 12 noon.  The meetings are aimed at anyone from expert to amateur who has an interest in plants and gardening and involves guest speakers as well as practical sessions. Cost £7 per session – all welcome!
