Spring is almost here and it’s the Worm Moon when worms are active. You may not know that all the full moons are named and have a meaning in folklore. March is the month of the Full Worm Moon. At this time of the spring Moon, the ground begins to soften and earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of robins.
While most of us regard earthworms as good guys helping to churn topsoil and drag down organic matter which helps make humus beneficial to plant growth, lawn purists are niggled by the proliferation of silty casts they leave behind on their perfect pitches.
We now stock CastClear, a worm cast suppressant, developed to deter (without harming) worms as they dislike working their way through treated soil. 500ml concentrate- £19.99.
