If you have planted out your potatoes then this morning’s warning of frost tonight may affect you.  Potatoes are only half hardy so they should be protected from the frost with a bit of fleece, as should any exposed plants which are still hardening off.

And disregard the BBC weather lady’s conversation this morning with the newsreader about protecting winter pansies.  Winter pansies will have been planted before the start of winter and therefore do not require protection. It just goes to prove a little misinformation can be costly…
