Starting tomorrow (26th January 2019) you can take part in RSPB’s 2019 #BigGardenBirdWatch online. Now in its 40th year, the RSPB event simply asks as many people as possible to spend an hour observing how many birds pass over their garden and note what types of birds they saw. No garden? No problem! Simply head to your local park or favourite outdoor spot and settle down to watch our feathered friends.
Full details can be found on the RSPB website here. Your efforts help the charity to monitor trends in bird populations, recognising which species are thriving and which are struggling in our rapidly changing environment. By understanding these facts, conservation teams can work to help save species that are facing difficulties.
Are you joining in? Come and tell us what you find on Facebook!
Don’t forget to support the wild birds in your area by supplying clean drinking water and plenty of food in clean, easily accessible bird feeders.
