From February 2023 we committed to selling purely peat free compost whenever possible, ahead of the Government’s sustainability targets to eliminate the use of peat altogether in the next 2 years. We are running our own not entirely scientific trials with the aim of being able to advise customers as best we can as to what to expect from the latest peat free products.
This means that we may not be stocking the products you are used to seeing in the past. The prices vary widely from supplier to supplier depending on their access to green waste or non peat substitutes. We also may recommend additions to get the best from your growing media or additional watering requirements but all of this is intended to allow you to get the best results in your garden.
