Thanks so much for the great reception to our local delivery service.

As though of you who have tried it out will know, there’s just my sister fielding calls and orders and me (and my son for the Easter break from school) loading our little silver van and dropping it off on driveways so your patience, decisiveness on the ‘phone and trust that we will get back to you when you leave us your telephone number have all been above and beyond what we could hope for from our fantastic customers!

For those who don’t know, the transaction is:  you phone in, you make a plan for what you would like (that’s plants, compost, seeds, trays, chemicals – just about anything that is easy to describe quickly!), we gather it together and scan it through our tills, we call you back, you pay by card over the phone, we take your delivery details and schedule you into a slot in your area, we deliver to your front drive.  All we need is to see your card at the window so you do not need to leave your house to confirm your details.

You can even collect from the car park if the timing of our deliveries does not fit in with you – again we just ask to see your card – you open your boot and leave your card on the edge of the open boot, we check card and load up while you remain at a safe distance.

At the moment we are managing fairly well and have even fitted a day off in today (Thursday 2 April) as the weather isn’t so great but please do bear with us.

We are getting many requests for “colour in the garden” but unfortunately, we do not have any summer bedding at this time as it is too early and too cold.  Watch this space for developments or Facebook as we are attempting to arrange supplies from any local growers that might still be trading.  We do however have plenty of tomatoes, some veg plants back in and access to seeds.  And as we are getting many requests for other plant pics I will be posting these on Facebook later today – and possibly in more short posts on this website to give you a flavour of what you could be planting now instead.

I hope this all helps the frustrated gardeners out there.  All we would like to achieve is keep the business we spent 23 years developing running in a very small way, offer a service as long as it is wanted and ensure the plants Diane, Anita and their team have so lovingly maintained end up in their rightful homes!

Please all stay well.
