Ticket touts are offering Chelsea Flower Show tickets for sale at over £550 as the ‘Titchmarsh effect’ boosts interest in The RHS show Chelsea this year.

Alan Titchmarsh is designing his first Chelsea garden since 1985 after losing the frontman role for the BBC’s coverage of the show. His Chelsea garden ‘From the Moors to the Sea’ charts his journey from his native Yorkshire to the Isle of Wight, where he has a holiday home, and is his first since winning a gold medal in 1985.  All 161,000 tickets to the event have already gone which is the  second-fastest sell-out in its history.

Everyone is very excited about seeing his garden and the RHS say this reflects the ‘Titchmarsh effect’ which has left gardening fans facing such inflated online prices.  The RHS is urging gardeners not to buy tickets from touts and warning anyone with tickets that turn out to be fakes will be denied entry.

If you are interested in any of the designs you see at Chelsea and are not lucky enough to get hold of a ticket, then look no further!  Our resident horticulturalist, Sue Jeffries is running a workshop on Chelsea Trends for Your Garden on Sunday 1st June so book now!!
